A national deposit system for preserving, managing, and enabling the shared research use of valuable compound resources.
Deposit Overview
KCB receives drug discovery compounds generated through national R&D projects and voluntary deposits from researchers. Deposited compounds are reviewed, quality-checked, registered, and managed as national compound resources.
Compound deposit helps preserve research outcomes and may create opportunities for follow-up research collaboration when deposited compounds are used by other researchers.
Deposit Types
Research Outcome Deposit
Compounds generated through national R&D projects may be deposited as research outcomes and registered through KCB.
Voluntary Deposit
Researchers may voluntarily deposit compounds after their original research purpose has been completed.
Collaboration Potential
When deposited compounds are used by other researchers, depositors may be informed of utilization results and pursue collaboration.
Deposit Procedure
- Application submission: Submit compound structures and required information.
- Suitability review: KCB reviews whether the compound is suitable for deposit.
- Compound transfer: Submit compounds and supporting analytical data, such as NMR data.
- Quality verification: KCB verifies purity and molecular weight using UPLC-MS.
- Certificate issuance: A deposit certificate is issued after quality verification.
Scope and Criteria
KCB accepts organic synthetic compounds and single-component natural products with potential value for drug discovery and bio-research. Compound quality and supporting information are reviewed before acceptance.
