Request Compounds

Introductory information on how KCB compound resources can be requested and used for qualified research purposes.

Request Overview

KCB provides compound resources for research use through a review-based application process. Researchers may request compounds after selecting suitable compounds by structure, purpose, target, focused library, molecular modeling, or virtual screening.

Request Procedure

  1. Application submission: Submit a compound use application.
  2. Application review: KCB reviews suitability and research purpose.
  3. Compound selection: Compounds are selected directly by the applicant, through focused libraries, or with modeling and virtual screening support.
  4. Agreement and distribution: A compound use agreement is completed before distribution.
  5. Result submission: Bioactivity test results are submitted after use.
  6. Structure information: Structure and purity information for active or hit compounds may be provided.
  7. Follow-up distribution: Additional related compounds may be provided upon request.

Compound Selection Methods

Structure-Based Search

Researchers can select compounds using substructure, full structure, SMILES, InChI, keywords, target names, disease names, or physicochemical properties.

Molecular Modeling

Compounds may be selected through molecular modeling or virtual screening, including expert support when appropriate.

Focused Libraries

Pre-defined focused libraries can be selected according to research purpose, target class, or compound type.

Research Use Policy

Compounds provided by KCB are intended for research use. Specific terms, procedures, and administrative requirements may vary depending on research purpose, compound availability, and applicable KCB policies.
